Job Title: Community Support Worker


Job Location: ?Far North – Kaitaia , Mid North – Kaikohe ,Kerikeri , Whangarei Region, ?Lower Northland – Mangawhai and Kaiwaka



Employment type: Permanent Full Time or Part Time


We are expanding our services in the region and due to the increase in referrals, we are looking for staff around the Northland area.

Opportunity for a Permanent Part Time (up to 29 hours per week) and Full Time (30+ hours per week) roles available based on candidate preference


Days of work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.


Pay Band: $23.38 - $29.10 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement by the Ministry of Health – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).


This rewarding role of a Community Support Worker involves (Job responsibilities):



  • Assisting the client with personal cares, home help, shopping assistance, and meal preps

  • Supporting exercise programmes

  • Moving and handling using hoists and manual transfers

  • Assisting the client to access the community



The ideal candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):



  • Experience in assisting clients with their personal cares would be an advantage

  • Access to your own car and a Full Driver’s License is a requirement of the role (as this is community based work)

  • Confidence driving a mobility van would be an advantage (training can be provided)

  • A Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Health and Wellbeing would be an advantage, however, someone looking at making a career in the Healthcare Industry would also be considered for this role (comprehensive training will be provided)

  • Flexibility to work on roster (including weekends)

  • Great communication skills

  • Legal Right to work in NZ
