Position Title: Full-Time Cafe Baker 
Location: 567 Manukau Road, Epsom, Auckland 1023
Working Hours: 30-40 hours per week (Wednesday to Sunday)

Our diverse team works collaboratively in a supportive environment, promoting a healthy work-life balance. We are open 7 days a week from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and are looking for a passionate Full-Time Cafe Baker to join our kitchen team.
 
Position Overview:
The Cafe Baker is responsible for the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality baked goods and dishes. This role requires a blend of baking expertise and cooking skills, focusing on maintaining the standards that have established Coffee and Tea Lovers as a reputable establishment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•    Kitchen Operations Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, leading the team in the preparation and production of baked goods and other dishes.
•    Baking Process Coordination: Prepare a variety of bread, pastries, and desserts involving forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of batches as required. Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine appropriate baking times, ensuring optimal results. Always ensure consistency in product appearance.
•    Cooking skills: Assist in cooking a variety of main dishes at the cafe as required. 
•    Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate kitchen aids mixture to prepare dough, fillings and for other baking needs. . Empty, clean, and grease baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment. 
•    Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and flavour.
•    Food Safety: Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards in all kitchen operations. Check the cleanliness of equipment and kitchen premises at all times to comply with health and safety regulations.
•    Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies as needed and minimize food waste.
•    Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient service.
•    Menu Development: Assist in the creation and execution of seasonal menus and specials along with the cafe manager. 
 
Qualifications:
•    Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or a level 5 relevant qualification
•    Strong attention to detail in food presentation and flavour.
•    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment.
•    Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 


 
Working Conditions:
•    Full-time position with shifts primarily from Wednesday to Sunday, with flexibility as required by business needs.
•    Fast-paced kitchen environment requiring stamina and the ability to work under pressure.
