Class 5 Truck Driver

Your Key Responsibilities include: 

• Carry out transportation of general freight including dangerous goods, bulk deliveries and pickups from freight companies.
• Deliver and pick up goods from the freight companies with an ability to load and unload the truck using lifting and tipping devices, if required.
• Carry out daily pre-checks of the vehicle and report any faults immediately.
• Report any problems, incidents/accidents or customer complaints immediately.
• Secure the loads using load binders, chains and straps to prevent loss and damage of the goods.
• Adhere to Land Transport Safety Authority rules and regulations and keep a logbook of the hours worked.
• Keep records of, and check invoices for goods you deliver/pickup.
• Carry out any other duties as requested by the Managing Director or designated Manager.

You will also be responsible to:

• Observe safe work practices and rules relative to your work and the company will diligently enforce these rules.
• Adhere to fatigue guidelines.
• Undergo drug and alcohol testing if required.
• Actively contribute to hazard identification and management.
• Participate in Health and Safety Training.
• Adopt safe work practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

• At least 1 year work experience driving 18 Speed Manual Road Ranger, FCL Swinglift or similar truck.
• NZ Class 5 Drivers License (or International Drivers License with an ability to obtain a NZ Class 5 License).
• Knowledge of how to secure loads using load binders, chains and strops.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a can-do attitude.
• Good time management skills.

The pay range for this position is between $30.00 per hour to $35.00 per hour based upon experience.

Starting Location: 18 Drumbuoy Drive, Flat Bush, Auckland and all other parts of Auckland as specified by the employer.
