The Role
Under direction from the Solutions Architect and Environmental Lead; develop, build, configure and document key components of a Defence stand-alone network for implementation into a production environment. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of a Defence stand-alone network, including:
    o   Build and configuration activities, 
    o   Development of Build Instructions, 
    o   Assistance to Solutions Architect on product design, 
    o   Assistance to network lead on builds (utilising existing Build Instructions) 
  • Lead the Unified Communications design, development and maintenance effort 
  • Assist with networking, environment and infrastructure design, development and maintenance (preferred) 
  • Conduct work in accordance with the Project Agile Methodology, including maintaining Jira and participating in stand-ups, backlog grooming. 

The Candidate
  • Ability to maintain security awareness and implement security best practices. 
  • Experience in developing Build Instructions (BIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 
    Ability to work well in a team environment, communicate effectively with technical leads & project management and meet project deadlines. 
  • Ability to independently learn new concepts and skillsets and improve upon existing technical knowledge. 
  • NV2 Security Clearance (essential)

Essential Criteria:
  • CISCO Call Manager and associated CISCO UC Products 
  • CISCO Endpoint Configuration (including Webex products) 
  • CISCO Jabber 
  • CISCO UC voice, video & SIP configuration 
  • Network and Security Design, 
  • CISCO & Juniper networking  
Highly Desirable: 
  • Data Centre Architecture – Network, Compute, Storage and Network Services,
  • Network Engineering (Cisco Enterprise Networking including WAN, LAN, and Data Centre),
  • Software Defined Networking, 
  • Subnets and VLANs, 
  • Knowledge of Storage solutions, 
  • Knowledge of Cisco ACI and VMware NSX-T, 
  • Knowledge of DMVPN, Juniper networking, 
  • (Juniper EX4200/4300 Access Switches), 
  • Disaster Recovery and active-active data centre, 
  • Management network design and management tools. 

Desirable Criteria:
  • Firewall rulesets,  
  • Windows Server 2016/2019 (working knowledge). 
  • SCCM 
  • Windows SQL  
  • Splunk 
  • McAfee
