Chef Wanted – Busy Chinese Restaurant!!!

We are a popular and busy Chinese restaurant operating on the North Shore of Auckland, seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team and deliver fantastic Chinese cuisine to our valued customers.

The role will include, but not limited to:

  • Prepare, season, and cook a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes, including stir-fry, roasted, steamed, and braised specialties.

  • Plan, develop, and adapt menus and daily specials according to seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

  • Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation.

  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service, ensuring smooth operation in a fast-paced environment.

  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients and manage stock levels to minimize wastage.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.

  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, safe equipment use, and kitchen procedures.

  • Manage kitchen equipment, ensuring proper use, cleaning, and reporting of maintenance needs.

  • Work closely with restaurant management to maintain efficient food cost control and portion sizes.

  • Assist in receiving and checking deliveries to ensure quality and quantity of supplies.

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all workplace safety requirements.

  • Other duties may be reasonably require in order to provide excellent food and customers services

Job pre-requisites: 

  • At least 2 years working experience

  • Relevant cookery qualification or certificate is preferable but not a must

  • Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.

  • Reliable, friendly and professional manner 

  • Have a strong focus on food hygiene and cleanliness.

  • Job Salary : $30.00 - $32.00   
  • Working hours: 30 - 40 hours per week
  • Work Location: Auckland
