About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced chef with a strong background in Sri Lankan cuisine to join our team full-time.

This permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing and reputable takeaway that values authenticity, consistency, and creativity in every dish.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • This will be a sole charge roll who take all the responsibility to plan and develop seasonal menus to match with the local eating pattern

·        Prepare and cook traditional Sri Lankan dishes, including curries, kottu roti, sambols, and rice dishes and authentic breakfast dishes

  • Ensure consistent quality, flavour, and presentation of dishes
  • Monitor stock levels, minimise waste, and manage portion control
  • Following all health and safety regulations in the kitchen, including food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation practices.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment in line with food safety standards

Skills and Experience Required

  • Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ full-time experience as a Chef
  • Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan cuisine and traditional cooking methods
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
