The owners of the Mainsail Bar and Bistro, located in Whangaproa, are looking for two new Chefs for a newly acquired venue in the vicinity.

Key duties will include:

  • planning menus, estimating food and labour costs
  • monitoring stock levels and ordering food supplies
  • making sure all dishes are prepared and presented to acceptable standards preparing and cooking food
  • explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
  • helping select and train staff
  • ensure foodstuffs are stored appropriately

Our ideal candidates will have:

At least 2-3 years of experience as a chef in a busy kitchen and either already experienced in the above tasks or ready to step up to the next level.  A level 4 professional cookery qualifiication may be taken in lieu of some or all of the work experience required.

A hardworking and "can do" attitude.

Starting pay for this position is between $29-$32/hr, minimum 30-35 hrs (open to negotiation) per week with flexibility of picking up more shifts when required.
