We are a busy Columbus Café in Richmond, Tasman who provides only the highest quality meals made from the freshest ingredients. 

We are seeking a Chef to join our company in Richmond, New Zealand.

The purpose of this position is to use your flair and experience in the kitchen to continue to drive the café forward whilst maintaining the food quality and customer service.

Reporting directly to the Head Chef and working with the Manager/Director (if any), some of your responsibilities include: 
• Cooking elements of every dish, preparing side dishes, breads, pickles and garnishes
• Tracking and ensuring all food stock requirements
• Ensuring all procedures and work environments meet hygiene and safety standards

To be successful in this role you will need to have at least two years of experience in a kitchen-based role. You must have an understanding of trending flavours and techniques and must be able to use a specialty commercial kitchen equipment. 

This position would best suit someone who is highly motivated, has attention for detail and possesses a great knowledge of trending cafe flavours. Someone who is proactive, honest and reliable would be the ideal candidate for this position. You must have a mature attitude and use initiative in the kitchen. 

You will need to be available in the weekends and on public holidays. Please note that drug testing will be conducted as necessary in the assessment of your application to ensure that you will be able to work in the environment and with our equipment successfully. 

 

We will guarantee at least 30 hours per week for this position. The minimum payrate for this position is $30 per hour and the maximum payrate is $35 an hour.
