Jumbo Seafood Albany is looking for Full-time Chef to join our dedicated and busy team. Start date immediately.

We are serving tasty Chinese Fusion Cuisine Mainly Takeaways, and Dine in.

Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Cooking and preparing dishes in line with the quality, flavour and presentation standards;
  • Participating in discussions with the head chef/manager and team to plan, update and improve menus, ensuring seasonal ingredients and customer preferences are considered;
  • Assisting in the development of new recipes and creative presentation styles to enhance the dining experience;
  • Discussing food preparation issues and coordinating effectively with kitchen and waiting staff;
  • Ensuring that customers are served high-quality meals in a timely manner;
  • Monitoring portion control and consistency in dishes served;
  • Ensuring safety, hygiene and cleanliness of all kitchen, storage, and food preparation areas in compliance with health regulations;
  • Assisting in monitoring storage of supplies, ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients;
  • Undertaking regular stocktakes, controlling food costs, and reporting discrepancies to management;
  • Checking and maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation;
  • Implementing regular cleaning and waste management practices;
  • May training and guide junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, safe food handling, and workplace procedures;
  • Attending frequent staff meetings to better understand customers’ demands and contribute ideas for service improvements;
  • Performing any other kitchen or food preparation duties as reasonably required.

Requirements for the job:

  • 2 year's Experience and Knowledge of cooking Chinese cuisine OR Chinese Cuisine Chef Level 3 occupational certificate if experience not met
  • Full time availability Monday - Sunday
  • Fit & No criminal record
