BREAKING BREAD 2024 LIMITED is a well-regarded establishment located in Ngāruawāhia, Waikato, known for serving exceptional coffee and a variety of freshly prepared meals. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming atmosphere, high-quality food, and attentive service, making us a preferred destination for both locals and visitors. We are currently seeking multiple skilled and passionate Chefs to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with management to plan, develop, and update menus, introducing new and seasonal dishes that align with customer preferences and business goals.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while maintaining consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Oversee the presentation and plating of all meals to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards.
• Manage food inventory, ordering, and cost control to ensure efficient use of ingredients and minimise wastage.
• Maintain proper portion control and ensure meals are visually appealing and of high quality.
• Supervise and guide kitchen staff, delegating tasks effectively and promoting a positive and safe working environment.
• Monitor the condition and performance of kitchen equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and storage standards, including proper stock rotation and handling procedures.
• Collaborate with management to address operational challenges and contribute to continuous improvement in kitchen efficiency and service quality.
You are required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week, and you will be paid between $25 to $30 per hour.
Requirements for the Role:
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience or a Level 4 qualification in related field.
• Must be able to start early and work flexible hours as required.
• Available to work on weekends.
• Physically fit and able to work on foot for extended periods
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
• Good coordination and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the capability to guide and support kitchen staff when required.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food quality and presentation standards.
