Job Description:

K3N ENTERPRISES LIMITED T/A ARO VALLEY FOODMARKET is looking for a talented COOK at Wellington, and we are You will be responsible for ensuring the restaurant’s smooth kitchen operation and customer satisfaction by preparing delightful food. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $23.50 to $27.00/- an hour

Required for our store located at ARO VALLEY, WELLINGTON, New Zealand.

Job duties:

Some of the duties and responsibilities you will be responsible for include:

  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality and perishability.
  • Maintain clean and tidy working areas to prevent cross-contamination
  • Advise Kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety
  • Regulating the temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
  • Preparation of Indian Punjabi Gravies, Chinese dishes, chaat, kachori, and other hot food item recipes, as well as plating.
  • Take a note of all stocks and inform the manager about the required stock ordering.
  • Set up all the deliveries to routine customers.
  • Preparing and cooking food
  • Seasoning food during cooking.
  • Portioning Food, placing it on plates and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
  • Storing food in temperature–controlled facilities.
  • Maintain kitchen health and safety compliance.
  • Keep the kitchen clean.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Instruct the delivery staff according to the orders from specific customers.
  • Keep all kitchen utensils, tools, and equipment well-maintained.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience for the role of Cook
  • Minimum qualification of Diploma can substitute the requirement of work experience.
  • The selected candidate will receive detailed training.
  • Basic communication skills and basic knowledge of technology to operate the equipment.
  • Able to work independently and make decisions in the kitchen for the betterment of the business.
  • Pass random drug and alcohol tests (when required)
  • Clear criminal record
  • Have an excellent manner with people, especially team members.
  • Reliable and flexible to change.
  • Must be able to work across any shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Must be able to work in split shifts
  • Must be a fit, quick thinker, reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated
  • Able to lift weights up to 25kg.
