We are seeking an experienced Baker to join our growing team.

About Us

ROCO PAPAZ is an Auckland-based food business specialising in burgers, submarine rolls, cakes, brownies, and related food products.

Due to continued business growth and increased customer demand, the business is expanding its in-house baking operations. This includes baking burger buns, brioche buns, submarine rolls, sandwich breads, and related bakery products internally to support daily restaurant operations, catering supply requirements, and future business growth.

The Opportunity

This is a full-time, permanent position with guaranteed 32 hours per week.

The Baker will play an important role in supporting the business’s day-to-day food operations by preparing fresh bakery products used across the ROCO PAPAZ menu and broader food service operations.

The role will primarily involve preparing and baking burger buns, brioche buns, submarine rolls, sandwich breads, and related bakery products while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, presentation, and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, mixing, kneading, proofing, baking burger buns, brioche buns, submarine rolls, breads, brownies, cakes, desserts, and and related bakery products
  • Measuring and preparing ingredients according to recipes and daily operational requirements
  • Monitoring dough preparation, proofing times, oven temperatures, baking times, and product appearance to maintain consistent quality standards
  • Operating equipment and maintaining efficient daily baking workflows
  • Checking the quality and freshness of raw materials and finished bakery products

Requirements

  • Applicants must have either at least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Baker or similar role or a Level 4 certificate or higher in Baking, Patisserie, Cookery, or a related field
