We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead planning, coordination, and delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects. You will oversee project execution, subcontractors, safety, quality, cost control, and stakeholder engagement while mentoring teams and driving performance.

Location: Wellington, with work to be carried out as required on project requirements covering Canterbury, Manawatu-Whanganui, Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Otago, Southland.

Minimum guaranteed hours: 40

Maximum hours per week: 52

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering and construction activities
  • Manage project schedules, resources, subcontractors, and delivery outcomes
  • Monitor project costs, risks, productivity, and reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Engineering qualification or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant engineering/project delivery experience
  • Experience in large-scale or complex construction/infrastructure projects
  • Strong planning, communication, stakeholder, and problem-solving skills
