V&V JV LIMITED is seeking a skilled Cook to join its team in Bombay, Auckland. The role involves preparing a range of meat and vegetarian dishes, sides and desserts, to meet customer demand and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be reliable, efficient in a fast-paced kitchen, and familiar with food safety and hygiene practices.

Key Responsibilities 

  •  Follow recipes accurately to prepare and cook menu items. 
  • Gather and prepare ingredients required for food preparation.
  • Plan and coordinate food preparation tasks to meet customer demand, particularly during peak periods.Operate and monitor cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers, ovens, and food warmers to ensure efficient preparation and service.
  • Develop and introduce new recipes, menu items, and food preparation methods, while contributing ideas to enhance menu variety, customer satisfaction, and overall food quality.
  • Portion and present dishes in accordance with company standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely service.
  • Store food properly and monitor stock levels, assisting in inventory rotation and reporting shortages.
  • Adapt dishes to meet special dietary requirements or customer preferences where applicable.
  • Follow food safety and workplace health and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and hygiene standards when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by following proper sanitation and hygiene standards. 

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $25 to $30 per hour

Other requirements for the role:

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant work experience or at least a relevant level 4 qualifications.
  • Must be available to work on weekends and late evenings.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
