From MyJobSpace to JobSpace: Our new name and journey

The beginning: Why we started
16 years ago, Gary Collins recognised a problem. Posting jobs was extremely costly. He thought, "There should be a better and more efficient way." That's when he had the idea to start his own job website. New Zealand didn't have a job website that let companies pay once a year to post jobs. So, Gary made one.
He named it MyJobSpace. He wanted everyone to feel it was their own special place to find jobs. The name meant, "This is my place to look for work."
Growing and getting better
As years passed, MyJobSpace grew and changed. We worked hard to make it better for everyone. Last year, we wanted to make the website even more helpful. We decided to add things that would benefit people looking for jobs and companies.
While talking about these changes, we noticed something. Most people just called us "JobSpace" for short. It was like a nickname.
A new name: Listening to you
We thought, "Why not use the name everyone already uses?" JobSpace is easier to say and remember. So, we decided to change our name. But even though the name is different, our goal is still the same.
Proudly kiwi-owned
An essential aspect that sets us apart is that we are a 100% NZ-owned job portal. We take pride in our roots and are committed to serving our community to the best of our capabilities.
Our promise to you
We want to be the best place for people in New Zealand to find jobs. And we want companies to find the right workers easily. We promise to help everyone start their career. With our new name, we hope it's even easier for you to think of us when you're looking for a job or hiring.
