Cleaner | Kaikoura Hospital

Kaikōura Health Te Hā O Te Ora is located on the beautiful Kaikoura coast and offers a wide variety of services to the local community. Our integrated Family Health Centre provides a fantastic mix of general practice and rural hospital medicine. This role supports these important services and offers flexibility as to when the hours are worked on Saturday and Sunday.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible cleaner who is able to bring their passion for cleaning to our facilities. This role will suit a candidate that is looking to help make the Hospital a hygienic and safe space for our patients and whānau.

Salary - Starting rate $27.80 per hour (payment is time and a half on Saturday and Sunday). Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement.

You will be responsible for:

  • Completing all cleaning tasks to international healthcare standards
  • Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes
  • Operating and maintaining equipment safely around patients and whānau
  • Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with safety protocols

About you:

  • High level of patient confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience as a cleaner, particularly within health, is preferred but not essential.
