The Opportunity

Kirimana is looking for experienced Drainage Labourers for civil drainage projects across Christchurch.

Our opportunities include working across a variety of civil projects, including subdivisions, earthworks, drainage, services and general civil construction. We're looking for experienced labourers who understand how to work safely and efficiently across busy civil sites.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for reliable, experienced tradespeople who can work safely and confidently on drainage projects. Ideally you will have experience with:

  • Assist drainlayers with the installation and maintenance of stormwater, wastewater and drainage systems
  • Prepare trenches, work areas and pipe bedding for drainage installation
  • Assist with laying, joining and positioning pipes
  • Assist with installation of manholes, catch pits, sumps and other drainage structures
  • Dig, backfill and compact trenches using hand tools and small equipment
  • Assist with shoring and trench safety as required
  • Load, unload and move pipes, fittings, materials and equipment around site
  • Use hand tools, plate compactors, pumps and other basic site equipment
  • Assist operators with excavator spotting and trenching activities
  • Check levels, grades and measurements under the direction of experienced drainlayers
  • Assist with connecting drainage services to existing infrastructure
  • Carry out general civil labouring duties including site clean-up, preparation and reinstatement
  • Follow site health and safety procedures, including working safely around machinery, trenches and live services
