Looking for two Truck drivers for log trucks and general freight trucks based in Napier, for Class 5 drivers in our family-run operation.

Start early morning, 1 am- 2 am, depending on loading times. Role

involves driving to Gisborne, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Wellington,

Masterton, etc in the North Island.

The key responsibilities may include but are not limited to, the following:

·       Driving heavy vehicles.

·       Loading and unloading carboard and other material from commercial businesses.

·       Ensuring compliance with vehicle load limits and safety regulations.

·       Completing the necessary paperwork as required under legislation and business

·       procedures.

·       Delivering goods to specified customers with specified time frame. To assist in

·       Loading and unloading trucks.

·       Maintaining the truck in clean and tidy condition to comply with standard industry

·       Requirement.

·       Filling the logbook daily and handing in a copy fortnightly to the office.

·       Picking up the manifest/paperwork from dispatch for delivery.

 

Skills and experience required for the role:

·       Class 5 driver’s licence or an overseas licence 

·       Six months of relevant experience

·       Able to work weekends

·       Able to clear the drug and criminal history check

·       Able to wash the truck in the weekend

·       Ability to work unsupervised

·       Should be physically fit as the job may involve jumping up and down

·       from the truck frequently and Heavy lifting

·       Full training and supervision will be provided in log truck driving.

·       Uniform and PPE gear is supplied.

·       Applicants will need to be health and safety conscious, motivated,

·       physically fit and capable of working up to 70 hours per week, Monday

·       to Saturday.

Minimum 30 hours a week.

 

We are looking for operators who are comfortable with electronic logbooks and various cellphone

Apps for pre-advising loads and electronic log dockets.

We also must comply with various rules imposed by our clients in relation to admittance to their site’s/log skids. This opportunity would suit drivers who are not afraid of technology and who understand the importance of communication.
