Commercial Cleaner

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain commercial premises, including offices, retail premises and other designated areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop and clean floors, carpets and other floor surfaces.
• Clean and sanitise bathrooms, toilets, kitchens, staff areas and common areas.
• Dust, wipe and polish furniture, fixtures, fittings and other surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass, mirrors, doors and other accessible areas.
• Empty rubbish and recycling bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Use commercial cleaning equipment, tools and cleaning products safely and correctly.
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete assigned cleaning tasks within the required timeframes.
• Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies as required.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and keep cleaning materials and work areas organised.
• Follow workplace health and safety, hygiene and chemical-handling procedures.
• Report any damage, hazards, maintenance issues or additional cleaning requirements to the supervisor.
• Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained to the required standard.

Requirements

• Previous experience in commercial or general cleaning is preferred.
• Valid Class 1 driving licence .
• Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning duties, including standing, bending and moving cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules, instructions and workplace procedures.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleaning and hygiene standards.
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and cleaning products safely.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends or public holidays where required by the business.
