Pay Rate: $33.00 – $36.00 per hour

About Us

Sarvamay Limited operates a local convenience store serving the community with a range of everyday essential products and retail services.

The store offers groceries and household products, including milk, bread, snacks, canned goods and other everyday convenience items. The business also operates as a Lotto retailer and provides other convenience retail products and services.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the store.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the overall operations of the store to ensure efficient and effective business operations.
  • Determine appropriate product ranges, stock levels and service standards based on customer demand, sales performance and business requirements.
  • Manage stock control and purchasing, including monitoring inventory levels, arranging stock replenishment and placing supplier orders.
  • Manage product pricing and implement appropriate pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Plan and implement in-store promotions, seasonal sales activities and other initiatives to promote the store’s products and services.
  • Monitor store sales, operating costs, stock movement and financial transactions, and maintain appropriate operational and financial records.
  • Prepare and monitor store budgets and implement strategies to improve sales performance and profitability.
  • Recruit and select staff as required and manage staff induction and training.
  • Prepare staff rosters, allocate duties, supervise employees and monitor staff performance.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of customer service and manage customer enquiries, complaints and service-related issues.
  • Oversee merchandising and store presentation to ensure products are appropriately displayed, priced and adequately stocked.
  • Monitor stock rotation, product availability and expiry dates.
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers regarding product availability, ordering, pricing and deliveries.
  • Ensure appropriate standards of store cleanliness, hygiene, workplace health and safety, and operational compliance.
  • Oversee Lotto-related retail operations and ensure relevant procedures and requirements are followed.
  • Manage customer service and counter operations as required as part of the overall store operation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve store operations, customer service, sales performance and profitability.
  • Perform other reasonable management duties associated with the effective operation of the store.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required

  • A Diploma-level qualification is preferred; or
  • At least 2 years of relevant retail management or supervisory experience.
  • Lotto training and/or previous Lotto retail experience is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a convenience store, grocery, supermarket or similar retail environment would be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organisational, problem-solving and time-management abilities.
  • Sound understanding of stock control, purchasing, ordering, pricing and merchandising.
  • Ability to monitor store performance and make effective operational decisions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Positive attitude, reliability and a strong work ethic.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate of $33.00 – $36.00, depending on skills and experience.
  • Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Up to 45 hours per week, depending on business requirements.
