Gudiyamilan Trading Limited is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Assistants
to join its team in Lower Hutt, Wellington. The role is suited to proactive candidates who
can provide excellent customer service and help maintain high standards of store
presentation and daily retail operations.

Key Duties:
• Provide welcoming, efficient, and helpful customer service by assisting customers with product enquiries and locating items.
• Use point-of-sale (POS) systems to process cash, card, and electronic payments accurately.
• Restock shelves, displays, and promotional areas, ensuring products are readily available
and appropriately rotated.
• Apply correct pricing labels and promotional signage in accordance with current store
offers.
• Receive, unpack, and place incoming stock in designated storage areas, ensuring products are handled appropriately.
• Pick up and drop off stock as required to support the day-to-day operations of the store, provided a valid driver’s licence is held.
• Keep the store clean, orderly, and well-presented throughout daily operations.
• Check stock levels and report low inventory or stock discrepancies to management.
• Assist with stocktakes and other inventory control activities as required.
• Follow all hygiene, health and safety, and store operating procedures at all times.
• Assist with in-store promotions and provide customers with relevant product information
and recommendations when required.
• Report any suspicious or unusual activity to management to support a safe and secure
shopping environment.


The candidate will be required to work at least 30 hours per week and be paid between $24.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Requirements:
• Relevant work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• A valid Driver's License is required. 
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays if required.
• Comfortable working varied shifts and flexible working hours.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when completing tasks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to providing good
customer service.
• Reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high standards of store
presentation and operations.
