Merchandise Planner

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor sales data and stock levels to inform purchasing decisions

• Analyse trade, manufacturer, and market information to stay ahead of shifting

conditions

• Negotiate purchase, promotion, and supply arrangements with suppliers

• Design and implement pricing, marketing, promotional, and display strategies

• Collaborate with management on long-term planning and sales campaigns

• Establish seasonal and budget-based merchandise plans

• Forecast consumer trends and determine quantity, style, and quality of goods

• Inspect and select wool based on colour, yield, micron, and length

• Purchase wool at auctions, broker stores, and farm sheds

• Receive and assess samples from scoured wool exchanges

• May visit freezing works to procure slipe wool

What we require:

• NZ Register Level 4 qualification or minimum 2 years of relevant experience

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills

• Proven ability to work across supply chain, retail, or manufacturing

environments

• Experience with wool grading or procurement is a plus

• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced

setting
