We are looking for an organised, proactive and experienced PM Transport Dispatcher to join our Christchurch Transport team. 

In this fast-paced role, you will oversee evening transport operations, coordinate and dispatch drivers, manage fleet and container movements, and ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating daily driver rosters, dispatch and transport movements
  • Supervising and supporting drivers, including monitoring hours, fatigue and performance
  • Managing fleet utilisation, container movements and dispatch bookings
  • Ensuring vehicles, drivers and operations comply with health, safety and legal requirements
  • Maintaining accurate transport records and administration
  • Responding to customer queries and resolving operational issues
  • Supporting the Transport Manager with planning, performance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring effective shift handovers and smooth evening operations

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in transport dispatch, logistics, fleet coordination or a similar operational role
  • Proven experience supervising, coordinating or managing a team, preferably drivers
  • Strong knowledge of transport operations, driver hours, fatigue management and health & safety requirements
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Experience with transport, fleet management or dispatch systems is preferred
  • Good computer skills and confidence with administration and record keeping
  • A relevant qualification in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain or Business is desirable
  • A full and current NZ Driver Licence is preferred
