Hairdresser

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide women's and men's haircuts, styling and finishing services
• Conduct professional client consultations and hair/scalp assessments
• Perform professional hair colouring and colour correction
• Perform foils, highlights and balayage services
• Perform hair lightening, toning and colour maintenance
• Shampoo, blow-dry, style and finish clients' hair
• Perform keratin and other smoothing treatments
• Perform permanent straightening and rebonding treatments where appropriately trained and experienced
• Recommend appropriate hair treatments, products and aftercare
• Maintain accurate client and service records
• Maintain clean, hygienic and sanitised workstations, tools and equipment
• Follow appropriate health, safety and salon hygiene procedures
• Provide professional customer service and help develop repeat clientele
• Manage appointments and services efficiently
• Work independently when required and collaboratively with the salon team

Applicants must have:

• At least 2 years of relevant professional hairdressing experience
• Demonstrated experience working with both women's and men's hair
• Practical professional experience in hair cutting and styling
• Practical experience in professional hair colouring, foiling and related colour techniques
• Experience with hair straightening and/or smoothing services
• Knowledge of professional hair products, colouring processes and safe chemical application
• Good knowledge of salon hygiene and safe hairdressing practices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a salon team
• Ability to manage appointments and complete services within appropriate salon timeframes
• Availability to work rostered hours, including weekends and busy periods
