​​Job Description

  • Review technical drawings and specifications to identify required materials, measurements, and installation workflows
  • Source, choose timber and other supplies, and mark out work layouts
  • Cut raw materials, then join and nail shaped components together
  • Build structural frames, prefabricated panel assemblies and roof framing; fit subfloors and floorboards, and check structures for alignment and accuracy
  • Attach fascia boards, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, plus door and window frames
  • Put together pre-cut timber to create structural components and fittings for installation
  • Cut timber joints
  • May build concrete formwork
  • May carry out repairs to existing fixtures
  • May work with plastic laminates, acrylic and metal materials
  • Build, erect, fit out, renovate and fix structures and fittings made from timber, plywood, light gauge steel, wall panels and other materials
  • Perform other reasonable duties allocated by the employer

More details about the position

  • Location: Auckland
  • Job type: Full-time Permanent
  • Pay rate: 27.00- 38.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: Monday to Sunday (rosters may apply).
  • Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification) is required.
