About the Role 

ExtraStaff are seeking experienced Class 5 Truck & Trailer Drivers for an immediate start, ongoing role with a leading Christchurch-based employer. 

This is a nightshift position operating between quarries and customer sites, transporting aggregate and quarry materials across Canterbury. We're looking for confident, safety-focused drivers with strong truck and trailer experience who are comfortable operating in busy quarry and construction environments.

 

What We're Looking For 

Full Class 5 License 

Proven Truck & Trailer experience 

Experience operating Road Ranger gearboxes 

Ability to jackknife trailers confidently 

Strong reversing skills, including maneuvering into tight spaces 

Experience carting aggregate, quarry materials, or bulk products preferred 

Reliable transport and strong work ethic 

Ability to work independently and follow site procedures 

Commitment to workplace health and safety 

 

Requirements 

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test 

Physically fit and capable of working long shifts 

Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand 

Previous heavy transport experience essential 

Ability to work ongoing nightshift hours

 

What's On Offer 

Nightshift hours: 4:30pm to 2:30am 

Competitive rates up to $35 per hour depending on experience 

Weekly pay plus 8% holiday pay 

PPE provided where required
