Ecopower Solutions Limited is seeking a suitably Electrician to join our solar installation team. The successful applicant will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, commissioning, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing electrical wiring systems, equipment, circuits and electrical components along with installation and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) solar panel systems, inverters, and battery storage for homes and businesses across residential, commercial and/or industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, wiring diagrams and equipment specifications.
  • Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring systems, circuits, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
  • Installing, testing and commissioning solar photo voltaic (PV) power generation systems.
  • Install and connect power outlets, switches, lighting systems, switchboards and distribution boards.
  • Select, cut, strip, terminate and connect electrical wires and cables. 
  • Connect electrical systems and equipment to power supplies in accordance with specifications and applicable standards.
  • Test and commission electrical installations using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and repair or replace faulty wiring, cables, components and equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and routine servicing of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Identify unsafe electrical conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work, testing, repairs and maintenance.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and maintain electrical tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.

Applicant must hold relevant qualification OR five years of experience.

Applicant must hold New Zealand Class 1 Driver's licence or equivalent overseas licence.

Applicant for this position should be a New Zealand citizen/resident or hold a valid NZ work visa.
