Position: Fabricator Welder

Term: Permanent full time position

Wage: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week, with shifts rostered from Monday to Saturday.

 

Steelpac Engineering Limited is looking for five motivated and experienced Fabricator Welders to join us for achieving the company overall plans and objectives in supplying structural steel projects whilst considering Health and Safety, cost effectiveness, to the appropriate standards of quality assurance.

You are required to work as a team member in the fabrication, welding and rigging of structural steel, contribute to high-quality engineering solutions, and be involved in both workshop and site-based work.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of relevant work experience in New Zealand

  • Experience in working in factory environment, using the available tools in order to get the job done in a timely, cost effective and efficient manager

  • Able to real fabrication drawings

  • Health and safety conscious

  • Be able to work unsupervised and in a team both in the workshop and on the site

  • Work to a very high standard

  • Have a standard of fitness to work on the site and workshop

  • Be self-motivated, punctual and ready to work

  • Be able to work nightshift and/or on the weekend

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings

  • Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment

  • Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments

  • Cutting, threading, bending and installing pipes / rods

  • May erect steel on site
