Fair Auto Dismantlers Limited is a well-established business headquartered in Christchurch, with a second branch in Wellington, specialising in quality used vehicle parts for retail, trade and business customers. To meet operational needs, we are seeking a Branch Manager to join our team.

 

The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing branch sales, staff, customer relationships, inventory, administration and overall operational performance. The successful candidate will take a hands-on role in developing sales, managing key customers, coordinating the branch team and ensuring the efficient operation of the business.

 

Candidates must be able to be based in Christchurch. Starting pay offered from $33-$38 per hour will be fixed according to experience for 30-40 hours a week; however, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid at the above pay rate.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch, including sales, customer service, stock and parts operations.
  • Monitor stock levels and product requirements based on customer demand and sales activity, and coordinate purchasing and stock requirements with management.
  • Monitor branch sales, pricing and service standards, and implement company sales, pricing and promotional initiatives.
  • Oversee customer enquiries, quotations, orders and deliveries, and ensure appropriate product information and advice are provided to customers.
  • Maintain and review branch records relating to stock, sales and financial transactions, and report on branch performance to management.
  • Monitor branch operating costs and expenditure and provide relevant information for budgeting purposes.
  • Supervise, train and support branch staff, allocate daily work and monitor staff performance.
  • Coordinate the receipt and processing of vehicles and parts to ensure parts are properly identified, stored and available for sale or dispatch. 
  • Ensure branch operations comply with company procedures, health and safety requirements and applicable regulations.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 1.5 years of relevant sales or marketing experience, with some experience in the automotive parts industry required;
  • A tertiary qualification is preferred, with strong learning and comprehension skills;
  • Previous experience in staff supervision, team coordination or operational responsibilities would be an advantage;
  • Strong sales, customer service and business development skills;
  • Good understanding of automotive parts and vehicle components would be an advantage;
  • Strong communication, leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience with sales, inventory, invoicing or accounting software would be advantageous;
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with retail, trade and business customers;
  • Ability to work towards sales and branch performance targets;
  • Must be available to work weekends where required by the business;
