Sockburn Joinery Ltd, based in Christchurch, specialises in residential and commercial joinery.  Applications are invited from New Zealand citizens and residents for the role of Joiner and Installer.

Duration – permanent

Hours of work – 40 per week (33 per week guaranteed)

Rate of pay - $30 to $35 per hour, for normal hours, including overtime hours

Duties of Joiner and Installer:

  1. Manufacture and install kitchen, bathroom and laundry cupboards, plus partitions and commercial fittings.
  2. Read and follow drawings and specifications for materials.
  3. Select timbers and materials from stock.
  4. Prepare the premises for installation
  5. Cut, shape and fit timber parts and materials to form cupboards, partitions and fittings ready for installation.
  6. Put frames in place.
  7. Nail, screw and glue timber and materials.
  8. Assemble cupboards and fittings, erect partitions.
  9. Clean workshop and maintain equipment.
  10. Keep premises of customers clean while work is in progress and remove all shavings, sawdust and other waste materials when a job is completed.
  11. Observe workplace health and safety regulations.
  12. Report any accident or hazard at a workplace without delay to the Site Manager.

 Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Joiner is required.
