About the role
We are seeking a reliable Telecommunications Technician to join our team in Auckland.
The successful applicant will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining and repairing telecommunications equipment, cabling and related systems at residential, commercial and network locations.
Key Duties:

Install, configure and test telecommunications, network and data communication equipment.

Install and connect network, telephone and telecommunications cabling and equipment.

Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in telecommunications and network systems.

Repair, replace and adjust faulty telecommunications equipment, components and connections.

Configure network devices and telecommunications equipment to meet technical requirements.

Perform testing, maintenance and fault-finding using appropriate diagnostic and testing equipment.

Monitor telecommunications and network systems and resolve connectivity and equipment issues.

Provide technical support to customers and users for telecommunications and network-related problems.

Read and interpret technical specifications, drawings and installation requirements.

Maintain records of installations, maintenance, testing and repairs.

Follow health and safety procedures and relevant telecommunications and technical standards.
Skills and experience
-
Relevant qualification in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Networking, Information Technology or a related field OR relevant experience

Knowledge of telecommunications and data communication systems, network equipment and cabling.

Ability to diagnose and resolve telecommunications, connectivity and equipment faults.

Good understanding of network configuration and telecommunications equipment.

Ability to read and follow technical specifications and installation requirements.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
