How you will make an impact

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer / Senior Consultant to deliver high-quality security engineering solutions for our customers. In this role, you will work closely with clients to design, implement and uplift security capabilities that align with their business objectives, risk profile and technology environment.

This is a hands-on consulting role with a strong focus on security engineering, solution design, implementation and advisory across a broad range of cyber security domains. You will play a key role in delivering outcomes for customers, supporting pre-sales activities, and mentoring other team members within a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of security engineering projects in line with customer requirements and agreed scope
  • Design, implement and optimise cyber security solutions across enterprise environments
  • Provide expert advice on security architecture, engineering design, implementation approaches and operational uplift
  • Work with customers to understand business needs, technical challenges and security objectives, and translate these into practical solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders and technology partners
  • Contribute to security strategy and roadmap discussions by identifying opportunities for improvement and uplift
  • Support the development of solution designs, statements of work, implementation plans and cost estimates
  • Ensure consulting engagements are delivered on time, within scope and to a high standard
  • Produce clear and accurate technical documentation, including design documents, implementation guides and project reports

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cyber security, security engineering, professional services or a related technology environment
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security solutions in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of security engineering principles across one or more domains such as:
    • identity and access management
    • endpoint security
    • cloud security
    • SIEM / logging and monitoring
    • vulnerability management
    • security controls implementation
    • infrastructure and platform hardening
    • zero trust and modern security architecture
  • Experience contributing to solution design, project planning, technical delivery and customer advisory engagements
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with customers, senior leaders and delivery teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and outcome-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in fast-paced environments
  • Relevant industry or vendor certifications will be highly regarded
