JCR SERVICES LIMITED is looking for an experienced, motivated and hardworking individual who enjoys a hands-on role to join our Hawkes Bay-based team as Automotive Electrician to join our busy team. Perhaps you are unqualified but highly experienced? This could be for you too.

 

  • Location: Hawkes Bay​ 
  • ​​Pay Rate: $30-$35 per hour
  • Shifts commencing: ​9am - 6pm
  • Days of Work: Monday to Friday (Should be able to work on weekends if necessary)

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Use scan tools, multimeters, and oscilloscopes to locate computer and circuit faults.

·       Dismantling and removing electrical and electronic assemblies and components.

·       adjusting engine control systems and timing

·       repairing and replacing faulty ignition and electrical wiring

·       replacing defective parts such as fuses, lamps and switches

·       Fix or swap out damaged wiring, alternators, starter motors, switches, and fuses.

·       Set up new electrical parts like alarms, immobilizers, sound systems, auxiliary lighting, and dual-battery setups.

·       Discuss vehicle problems with owners, explain technical issues simply, and provide cost or time estimates.

·       Complete service reports and record all maintenance performed.

·       Reading wiring diagrams and blueprints.

·       Strong troubleshooting skills for complex computer and power systems.

·       Precision when handling delicate circuits and color-coded wires.

·       Adhering strictly to workplace health and safety rules

 

Types of equipment:

  • Road Transport: Semi-trucks, delivery vans, and buses.
  • Agriculture: Tractors and harvesters.

 

You Must Have:

  • Excellence in diagnostics and have a sound understanding of electronics. 
  • A full Driver’s license. 
  • A background in diagnostics and repair on agricultural tractors and machinery 
  • Good communication skills to liaise with people at all levels. 
  • To understand and manage customer expectations. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience OR Level 4 or above relevant qualifications.
  • Undertake a company pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
