JCR SERVICES LIMITED is looking for an experienced, motivated and hardworking individual who enjoys a hands-on role to join our Hawkes Bay-based team as Qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our busy team. Perhaps you are unqualified but highly experienced? This could be for you too.

 

  • Location: Hawkes Bay​ 
  • ​​Pay Rate: $30-$35 per hour
  • Shifts commencing: ​9 am - 6 pm
  • Days of Work: Monday to Friday (Should be able to work on weekends if necessary)

 

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Routine Servicing: Changing oil and filters, checking fluid levels, lubrications and engine tune ups and following manufacturer maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnostics: Using advanced computer scan tools to read fault codes, test fuel pressure, and test fuel injectors.
  • Repairs: Fixing or replacing specialized parts like turbochargers, fuel systems, transmissions, emissions components (DPF and EGR), preventative maintenance including brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics and fabrication, engine assemblies, steering mechanisms and other components.
  • Complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs.  

·       Report defects, safety issues, and non-conformances.

·       Work with a structured asset management system that keeps your daily workload organised and efficient. 

·       Work with other trades as required.  

·       Keep work areas clean and safe. 

·       Deliver safe, reliable customer service. 

 

Types of equipment:

  • Road Transport: Semi-trucks, delivery vans, and buses.
  • Agriculture: Tractors and harvesters.

 

You Must Have:

  • Excellence in diagnostics and have a sound understanding of electronics and hydraulics. 
  • A full Driver’s license. 
  • A background in diagnostics and repair on agricultural tractors and machinery 
  • Good communication skills to liaise with people at all levels. 
  • To understand and manage customer expectations. 
  • A good level of physical fitness as there is some heavy lifting involved. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience OR Level 4 or above relevant qualifications.
  • Undertake a company pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
