Carter’s Tyre Service Ltd is seeking enthusiastic and experienced OTR Tyre Technicians to join our Fleet Service team. Applicants may be temporarily assigned to work across any of our branches throughout New Zealand: Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Bay of Plenty, Manawatu/Whanganui, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, Southland, and Nelson, but will be permanently based in Auckland.

The successful candidates will be responsible for tyre management on our clients’ commercial fleets, including callouts and after-hours support. The work will involve removing and fitting OTR tyres using a Stellar Tyre Handler to eliminate
manual labour, performing thorough tyre maintenance, conducting regular tyre pressure checks, and making any required adjustments. Flexibility to travel and work in different regions may be required depending on operational demands.

Your hours will be Monday to Friday, between 7:30am – 5:00pm, with rostered Saturdays 9:00am – 12:00 noon and rostered call-outs.

What are we looking for?

• At least 3 years' proven experience in the tyre industry, especially OTR Tyres.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A minimum of a clean, full NZ Driver Licence or equivalent.
• Class 2 licence preferred but not essential.
• Current work rights in New Zealand.
• Preferably a high school/college graduate.
• A friendly, positive outlook with a customer-service focus.
• An understanding that safety is paramount, with a commitment to site safety procedures.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Delivery of high-quality service and specific products to customers.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and show customers how to maximise the benefits.
• Perform tyre inspections and record them through the Fleet Service system.
• Strip and fit tyres as required, following the standard operating procedure.
• Repair punctures according to the company guidelines.
• Greet the customer in a professional and polite manner, ready to make the sale.
• Where possible, meet the customer at their vehicle and prepare to make the sale - Retail.
• Present solutions to customers, including pricing, financing options, accurate product information, and estimated delivery time, to close the sale.
• Follow up on the sale and ensure the customer is happy. Thank them for choosing Carters Tyre Service.
• Maintain one's own presentation and positive behaviours towards customers, employees and vendors. Be the face of Carters Tyre Service.

Procedures and Process Adherence

• Assist in the Operation of an efficient branch that achieves financial budgets.
• Actively engage in new customer business that drives sustainable growth and contributes to bottom-line growth.
• Comply with Service Level Agreement processes, including Transportation Management System processes.
• Ensure work processes are completed in full, on time, and accurately, including job sheets, timesheets, TMS, and vehicle audits, to meet operational deadlines.
• Company uniforms must be worn at all times.
• Vehicle audits and checks must be completed.
• Report any damage or wear and tear to the vehicle and tools as soon as it happens. 
• Adhere to rosters, including Saturday and call-out rosters.
• Always obtain an order number for work to be completed.
• Vehicles must be kept clean inside and out.
• Maintain equipment to the required OEM standard.
• Actively engage with the wider Carters Tyre Service team to drive problem-solving and share learning with colleagues.
