About us

Stone Tech Limited specialises in the measuring, fabrication and installation of natural stone and engineered quartz benchtops for residential and commercial projects.

We are seeking two practical, experienced Site Supervisors to oversee benchtop installations across Auckland and maintain consistent workmanship, site coordination and quality standards.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will supervise allocated installation projects and coordinate with our in-house installation team and subcontract installation teams.

Across the business, our daily installation programme typically ranges from 2 to 15 kitchen benchtop installations, depending on project size and scheduling. Every installation requires an internal quality inspection before customer handover. The two supervisors will share site coverage and inspection responsibilities according to the daily programme.

This is a site-based supervision and quality assurance role involving regular travel between Auckland job sites.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret approved installation drawings, dimensions, specifications and job documentation to confirm installation requirements.

• Plan and coordinate allocated site activities with the Operations Manager, installation teams, customers, builders, cabinetmakers and other relevant trades.

• Check site readiness, including cabinetry and support conditions, access, protection requirements and the availability of the correct benchtop components and installation materials.

• Coordinate labour, materials, tools and delivery timing to support safe and efficient installation.

• Direct and monitor installation work within the agreed scope, track progress and address sequencing or coordination issues.

• Complete and document an internal quality inspection for every allocated installation before handover. Checks include alignment and level, overhangs, seams, visible edges and surfaces, sink fixing and sealing, cut-out positions against approved drawings, cleanliness and any visible installation-related damage.

• Identify defects and incomplete work, arrange corrective action and reinspection, and report unresolved issues before handover.

• Liaise with customers and site representatives about installation progress and site issues. Refer variations, additional work and commercial decisions to the Operations Manager for approval.

• Monitor compliance with company installation procedures and site health and safety requirements, and stop and escalate unsafe or non-conforming work.

• Maintain accurate inspection checklists, photographs, progress notes, defect records and handover documentation.

• Coordinate customer or site-representative handover after the required internal checks, ensuring any outstanding items and agreed actions are clearly recorded.

What you will bring

• At least three years of relevant practical experience in stone benchtop installations, building fit-out or construction site delivery, including hands-on responsibility for supervising or coordinating installation teams and checking workmanship.

• The ability to read installation drawings and translate specifications into clear site instructions and quality checks.

• Practical knowledge of installation sequencing, site readiness, workmanship standards and defect resolution.

• The ability to organise employees and subcontractors, manage competing site priorities and maintain accurate records.

• Effective communication skills to explain site instructions, safety requirements, progress and quality issues to installation teams, customers and other trades.

• The ability to travel between Auckland job sites and a driver licence valid for driving in New Zealand by the employment start date.

• Availability for scheduled weekend work when required by the installation programme.

We prioritise demonstrated practical experience and supervisory capability. A university degree is not required. Applicants must be able to provide verifiable evidence of their relevant employment experience and suitable referees.

What we offer

• A varied role across residential and commercial benchtop projects.
• Support from our operations, office and installation teams.
• Clear installation, quality inspection and handover procedures.
• Opportunities to develop your site supervision and team leadership skills.
