AR Labour Contracting Limited is a Hawke's Bay-based horticulture business hiring for multiple positions in Hawke's Bay , Bay of Plenty, and Canterbury.

 Positions are full-time and permanent.

Work hours for all positions: Minimum guaranteed 30 per week 

Maximum hours: 50 per week 

Role 1- Client Services Managers 

 

Pay Rate - $30 to $35 per hour 

 

The role involves working with the labour manager and company clients to manage their labour and other requirements.

 

JOb Duties 

 

  • Ensuring all pre-employment documentation is completed correctly and accurately.

  • Verifying that all staff have the legal right to work for the business.

     

  • Maintaining and updating employee records and collecting timesheets for submission to office

  • Supervising, training, motivating, and monitoring staff across multiple sites.

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and responsibilities.

  • Communicating with clients to identify and assess their labour needs.

  • Supporting the recruitment and selection of field staff.

  • Allocating tasks to supervisory and orchard staff and monitoring their work.

  • Travelling between different sites to assess workers 

  • Providing training to supervisors in orchard and vineyard operations.

 

  Job Requirements-

 

  1. Diploma-level qualification or 2 years of relevant work experience 
  2. Ability to work on a rotating roster and on public holidays 

Role 2- Horticulture Supervisors

Pay rate: $28 to $35 per hour 

The role supervises orchard and subcontractor staff on the orchard site.

Job Duties 

Duties and tasks

· Supervision and training of orchard and field staff doing harvesting, maintaining and planting of crops

· Oversee  worker performance and work quality

· Preparing timesheets and work records

· Responsible for general health and safety compliance in orchards

· Induction of staff and helping with onboarding 

· Transportation of staff

· Staff performance and productivity reporting to management

· Accident and incident management  

· Attending staff meetings as required.

 

Job requirements

  1. Certificate Level 4 qualification or 2 years of relavant work experience
  2. Ability to work on a rotating roster and on public holidays 

Role 3-  Horticulture Mobile Plant Operators 

 

Pay Rate= $ 28 to $ 35 per hour

The role is responsible for machinery-related work tasks within the orchards.

Job Duties

Drive orchard machinery for sowing, digging, cultivation, and harvesting

Operate small machinery for moving equipment within orchards

Operate the orchard machinery for moving equipment to different locations within orchards

Move horticulture produce from the field to the yards

Maintain and do minor repairs on equipment and machinery

Keep log records and other service records

Operate plant to cut trees and move trees

 

Job Requirements -

Flexibility in work hours, ability to pass a drug test and pass criminal checks

Level 4 qualification or 3 years of relevant work experience
