Job Summary

The Carpenter Assistant will assist carpenters and other construction workers with a variety of tasks across residential and light commercial construction sites. This is an entry-level position suitable for applicants who are willing to learn and develop practical construction skills. On-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, preparing, and handling construction materials.

2. Help with the installation and repair of building components, including framing, flooring, walls, and roofing.

3. Prepare and transport tools, equipment, and materials to designated work areas.

4. Follow instructions from carpenters, supervisors, and managers.

5. Assist with site preparation and general construction duties.

6. Keep the worksite clean, tidy, and organised.

7. Use hand tools and power tools safely after receiving appropriate instruction and training.

8. Follow workplace health and safety procedures and relevant site requirements.

9. Work cooperatively with other team members to complete tasks efficiently.

10. Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the manager.

Job Requirements

1. No previous work experience or formal qualifications are required.

2. Willingness to learn new skills and participate in on-the-job training.

3. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
