We are currently seeking reliable and full-time painters to join our team. The starting pay offered is $26-$35 hourly and will be fixed according to the skills and experience for at least 30 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid at the above pay rate.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including:

  1. Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, patching, filling, skimming, and priming.
  2. Apply stopping compound, plaster, or filler to GIB joints, corners, fixings, cracks, holes, and other surface imperfections, and sand surfaces smooth in preparation for painting.
  3. Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
  4. Select appropriate paint, plastering materials, and other finishing products based on surface types and project requirements.
  5. Carry out touch-up, repair, and finishing work as required to achieve a smooth and high- quality finish.
  6. Follow project specifications, plans, and quality standards to ensure work meets client and project  requirements.
  7. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other team members regarding work schedules, site access, and task priorities.
  8. Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  9. Maintain clean and organised work areas, including the proper storage, handling, and disposal of painting and plastering materials.

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least two years of proven experience in painting, plastering, construction work, or similar fields. Alternatively, a relevant qualification.
  • Must be available to work early mornings and weekends (based on work arrangement).
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
  • A pre-employment drug test and police check are required.
