We're keen to speak with Carpenters in Christchurch who have experience performing a range of different construction methods on residential builds
The Opportunity

With residential projects continuing to move through the pipeline, we're looking to connect with experienced Residential Carpenters in Christchurch for a range of upcoming opportunities.

You'll be working on residential new builds, from standalone homes through to townhouses and multi-unit apartment developments, as well as renovation projects. We're looking for capable carpenters who can hit the ground running, read plans confidently and take pride in delivering quality workmanship from foundations through to finishing.

Whether you're experienced in timber or steel construction, you'll need a solid understanding of residential building methods and the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

What We're Looking For

We're after experienced residential carpenters with a strong background in new builds and/or renovations. You'll ideally have experience across most stages of the residential construction process, including:

  • Setting out buildings, measuring accurately and working from construction drawings and specifications
  • Setting out and constructing frames from plans and measurements, using both timber and steel materials
  • Foundation preparation, boxing and associated concrete work
  • Wall framing, floor systems, roof framing and trusses
  • Installing and fixing building components throughout the construction process
  • Internal finishing, including architraves, skirting and other finishing work
  • Residential renovation, alteration and extension work
  • Measuring, cutting and assembling materials accurately while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

To be considered, you'll need:
  • Proven experience as a residential carpenter, ideally across new builds and renovation projects
  • The ability to read plans, interpret measurements and work with minimal supervision
  • A full tool kit, including your own nail gun and essential hand and power tools
  • A strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials and site safety
  • A reliable work ethic, good communication skills and a commitment to quality workmanship

A full driver's licence, your own reliable transport, and any additional relevant trade tickets are advantageous.

You'll also need a solid work history and references that can support your experience and standard of work.
