The Opportunity

With drainage projects continuing across Christchurch, we're looking to connect with experienced Registered Drainlayers who are ready for their next opportunity.

You'll be working across a variety of drainage projects, including residential and commercial installations, repairs, maintenance and general drainage work.

We're looking for capable drainlayers who can hit the ground running, read plans confidently, work accurately to levels and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.

This role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, has a strong understanding of NZ drainage practices and can work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

What We're Looking For

We're after experienced Registered Drainlayers with a solid background in drainage installation, maintenance and repairs. You'll ideally have experience across:

  • Residential and commercial drainage installations
  • Stormwater and wastewater drainage systems
  • Installing, repairing and replacing underground drainage pipework
  • Reading and interpreting drainage plans, drawings and specifications
  • Setting out drainage works and working accurately to levels and gradients
  • Trenching, pipe laying, bedding and backfilling
  • Drainage maintenance, repairs and fault-finding
  • Working around existing underground services and infrastructure
  • Operating excavators and other drainage equipment where appropriately trained
  • Ensuring all work meets NZ drainage regulations, standards and site safety requirements
 
To be considered, you'll need:

  • Current NZ PGDB Drainlayer registration and appropriate practising licence
  • Proven experience across residential and/or commercial drainage projects
  • The ability to read drainage plans and work confidently to levels
  • A strong understanding of NZ drainage practices, materials and regulations
  • A full NZ driver's licence
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A reliable work ethic, good communication skills and commitment to quality workmanship
 
Certifying Drainlayer registration, excavator experience and additional relevant drainage or civil construction tickets would be advantageous.

You'll also need a solid work history and references that can support your experience and standard of work.
