Fruit & Vegetable Store Manager

We are looking for one Fruit and Vegetable Store Manager to join our busy team in Auckland.

Hobsonville Produce Ltd is running for 17 years, the position on offer is for a permanent full time position. Applicants will do the following tasks:

A fruit and vegetable store manager oversees the daily operations, stock quality, and staff performance of a fresh food shop.

Core responsibilities:

• Stock and Inventory: Order fresh produce, manage stock rotation, track inventory levels, and minimise waste from perishable goods.
• Quality Control: Inspect incoming deliveries for freshness, check quality standards, and remove spoiled items promptly.
• Merchandising and Displays: Build attractive, full, and organised product displays to draw in shoppers and drive sales.
• Supplier Relations: Communicate with wholesalers and vendors, negotiate prices, and resolve supply issues.
• Team Leadership: Hire, Train, and roster staff, set daily tasks, and motivate the team.
• Customer Service & Cash Handling: Maintain high service standards, resolve customer queries, and oversee till reconsiliation/POS safety.
• Safety and Compliance: Maintain hygiene and food safety standards, plus workplace health and safety rules.

At least three years relevant work experience required. You need to have good health, character and a good work ethic with can-do attitute, be physically fit and be reliable. Remuneration will be in the range of $28-$33 per hour and is indicative of applicant's background, skills and past work experience. The employee is offered a normal week of 40 hours with over time available when required, Monday to Sunday. Employees are guaranteed payment of 30 hours a week.

The applicant should also have a NZ residency or a valid work visa.
