FARM AGRICULTURE ASSISTANT

Bailey Farming Limited  is looking for a dedicated Farm Agriculture Assistant to join our mixed crop and livestock farm in Canterbury . This role is vital for ensuring the smooth operation of daily agricultural activities. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess a valid driver's license, and have experience with tractor driving and livestock handling, cultivation experience. Have experience with Livestock and farming. An early start time of 6 AM is required, and we guarantee 30 hours of work per week with opportunities for overtime. 

Daily Farm Operations

• Assist with the care of various livestock, ensuring their health.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of farm facilities and equipment.
• Help with planting, cultivating, and harvesting a variety of crops as needed.
• Monitor crop health and promptly report any issues to the farm manager.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all tasks.

Equipment Handling and Maintenance

• Safely operate tractors and other farm machinery for various tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on farm vehicles and tools.
• Assist in the setup and operation of irrigation systems for effective crop growth.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for efficient farming operations.Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance schedules.

Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

• Must be physically fit to regularly lift 25-30 kgs throughout the day.
• Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 6 AM to 1:30 PM.
• Be prepared for early starts and potential overtime as needed.
• Own transport is required due to the farm's location not being on a bus route. No accomodation provided
• Adhere to a consistent work schedule while being flexible for additional tasks.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $30, with guaranteed hours of 30 per week. Overtime opportunities are available when required, providing additional earning potential.
