Zesch Automotive Service Ltd is an Auckland-based automotive service company. We are looking for multiple full-time Automotive Technicianto join our team.

Location: Auckland
Hours: Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: NZD 28 to 45 gross per hour, depending on skills and experience.

About the Role

The role is responsible for repairing, maintaining, diagnosing and testing motor vehicles and their mechanical components to ensure vehicles operate safely and effectively.

 
Tasks include:
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
  • Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other vehicle parts for inspection and assessment.
  • Repair or replace worn, faulty or defective components, and reassemble mechanical systems in accordance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to enhance vehicle performance and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
  • Reassemble engines and vehicle parts after repairs are completed.
  • Test and adjust mechanical components post-repair to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and test parts using electronic diagnostic tools and equipment.

The successful candidate must have:

  • At least two years relevant work experience OR a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification or above
  • Good work attitude and good communication skills
  • Strong motivation
  • Physical fitness
  • Quality workmanship and eye for detail
  • Strong dedication to health and workplace safety
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other team members.
  • Strong ability to work independently
