Our construction company is currently seeking reliable and full-time Construction Workers to join our team. The position will start at 30 hours per week, with potential for more working hours. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks, including:

  1. Follow instructions and work under the supervision of site supervisors, carpenters, steel fixers, and other senior construction staff.
  2. Assist with the installation, positioning, and securing of formwork for concrete construction work.
  3. Assist with stripping, dismantling, and removing formwork after concrete has sufficiently set.
  4. Assist with tying, positioning, and fixing reinforcing steel (rebar) in accordance with site instructions and project requirements.
  5. Drive between work sites as required and load, unload, transport, and organise building materials, tools, and equipment safely.
  6. Prepare and mix concrete and other construction materials as required, and assist with transporting materials to designated work areas.
  7. Keep work areas clean and safe by removing debris, waste materials, and potential hazards from the site.
  8. Assist tradespeople and other construction workers with general site duties and material preparation as required.
  9. Comply with all workplace health and safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks on construction sites. A minimum of six months of relevant construction site work experience is required. 
  • Ability to follow workplace health and safety procedures and instructions. 
  • A valid driver’s licence that allows the holder to drive independently in New Zealand is required, as the role involves travel between work sites and may require transporting tools, materials or equipment.
  • Reliable transport to meet the needs of varying work locations across Auckland.
  • Must be able to pass police vetting and drug testing where required.
  • Availability to start work early in the morning or work weekends when required by project schedules.
