Position Overview

 Best Man Barbers is seeking an experienced Barber to join our busy barbershop in Manurewa, South Auckland. The role involves providing professional barbering and grooming services to a diverse customer base while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service. This position meets the requirements for full-time employment under Immigration New Zealand guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful applicant will be required to:

·      Consult with clients to determine haircut, styling, and grooming requirements

·      Cut, trim, and style hair using scissors, clippers, razors, and styling tools

·      Shave, trim, and shape beards and moustaches according to client preferences

·       Wash, cut, blow-wave, and style hair using appropriate products and techniques

·       Apply hair products and chemical solutions where appropriate

·      Provide professional advice on hairstyles, grooming, and haircare products

·      Always maintain cleanliness of workstations and premises

·      Clean, disinfect, and sterilize tools and equipment after each client

·       Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and hygiene standards

·       Provide high-quality customer service and maintain client satisfaction

·       Promote and sell haircare and grooming products

·       Process customer payments and handle cash and EFTPOS transactions

·       Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

·       A formal barbering or hairdressing qualification is preferred but not mandatory

·      Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a barber or hairdresser

·      Proven ability to perform a full range of barbering services independently

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·       Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

·      Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. What’s on Offer

• Full-time permanent position. Weekend work is available 
• Minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours per week
• Competitive pay of $26.00–$33.00 per hour, depending on experience.
