We are hiring for Koel Construction Group , a professional construction company based in Auckland.> We are seeking an experienced Brick and Blocklayer to join our construction team based in Auckland. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks and masonry units on residential and commercial building sites, following plans and construction specifications. Relevant work experience is required. This is a full-time permanent position.

We are currently seeking a skilled Brick and Blocklayer to join our growing team.

● Location: Auckland 

● Job type: Full-time Permanent

● Number of positions for this job: 4

● Pay rate: from $28–$32 per hour 

● Working hours: Guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 50 hours per week 

● Working days: Monday to Saturday, 8:00am–5:00pm

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Read and interpret building plans, specifications and levels to set out masonry work

• Cut, shape, lay bricks, concrete blocks and masonry blocks accurately

• Mix mortar, spread bedding and jointing mortar

• Build walls, piers, retaining structures and other masonry elements

• Install damp courses, wall ties and control joints as required

• Ensure work complies with NZ building codes, safety standards and quality requirements

• Maintain a safe and tidy worksite and use PPE correctly 

• Carry out repairs and alterations to existing brick and block structures

Job Requirement

• Relevant prior 2-year experience or a formal qualification that demonstrates

skills relevant to the requirements of the position.

• A 'can-do”attitude

• Have an eye on details

• Self-motivated

• Clean non-criminal record

• Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree or higher are not restricted to a particular major.
