Forestry Workers

Starting rate from $27.00 - $35.00 PH 

Full time: 30 – 50 hours per week

Vailea Silviculture Limited is a forestry company based in Gisborne who are on the lookout for keen, reliable, on-time workers for full-time roles.

No experience is needed; we will provide full training and support.

The job:

• Planting - native or radiata pines in steep terrain.

• Weed control - working with a machete or chemical spray. 

• Scrub cutting - using a scrub bar to remove small trees and weeds

• Fire Watch and Prevention – fire look-out duties and cutting fire tracks.

• Thinning to Waste – felling trees with a chainsaw

All the above duties may be carried out on steep terrain in physically demanding country.

The role is a full-time role, and you will be required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and at time up to 50 hours if required.

Location: Tairawhiti  -  Gisborne Forests

Job Requirements

Physically fit.

Able to carry up to 20kgs on your back walking up steep terrain

sober and drug-free.

love the outdoors.

honest and reliable.

ability to work away from home.

ability to work in all terrain.

Transport: Transport will be provided to and from the work site. 

Training: Initial and ongoing training will be provided

Wage: The job pays $27.00 to $35.00 per hour depending on experience, or piece rates whichever is the higher amount.
