Carpet Layers needed

We are a well-established, Auckland based construction company. Now we are looking for Carpet Layers to join our team and we invite you to share this commitment with us!

We offer competitive rates and are looking for motivated hard working candidates to join our team on a full time (guaranteed 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and permanent basis. Additional hours may apply based on workload. The location of work will be the Auckland Region.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

·       Measure rooms and draw up specifications and estimate quantities for carpet covering.

·       Prepare carpet surfaces for coverings, removing and disposing of old carpet.

·       Lay out samples for selection, roll out, measure, mark, and cut off excess carpet and frays

·       Position the carpet, stretch it to fit, and cut off excess carpet and frays.

·       Join carpet sections together for large rooms

·       Glue or staple carpet to the carpet, finish edges with wall trimmer

·       Utilize carpet-laying tools such as carpet shears, knee kickers, wall trimmers, loop pile cutters, heat irons, and power stretchers

·       Correct imperfections in finished carpet

·       Rip of soiled sections of carpet and replace with new swatch

·       Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

What you'll need to succeed:

•        At least 2 years’ experience in relevant field or industry, OR
•        Have a NZ level 4 qualification or equivalent certificates/qualifications
