Established in Auckland in 2003, Xi’an Food Bar brings traditional Xi’an cuisine to New Zealand. Today, our restaurants operate across Auckland and Hamilton, serving dishes including hand-pulled noodles, dumplings and Chinese burgers. We are looking for an HR Manager to support our people and help maintain consistent employment practices across our locations. About Xi’an Food Bar

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review HR policies, procedures and workforce plans to meet the needs of our restaurants.
  • Lead recruitment and selection for restaurant and management positions.
  • Coordinate onboarding, training and development across locations.
  • Advise branch managers on staffing, performance management and employee relations.
  • Establish consistent processes for performance reviews and staff development.
  • Support fair resolution of workplace concerns and maintain confidential employee records.
  • Monitor staffing levels, retention and employment costs, and report recommendations to management.
  • Help ensure employment and workplace health and safety practices meet applicable requirements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related field, or substantial relevant HR management experience.
  • Experience managing recruitment, employee relations and HR policies; hospitality or multi-site experience is an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment practices.
  • Strong judgement, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work with managers and employees across different locations.
  • Excellent organisation and discretion when handling sensitive information.
